AMDG Second Album Recording

AMDG is the Young People Music Group based at The Holy Child & St Joseph’s Church, Bedford who often provide the musical liturgy at Shrine Masses, services and events. The Group, led by Clare and Peter, is in the process of recording their second album. The proceeds from its sale will go towards the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the work of the Guardians in promoting the National Pilgrimage Tour.

Back in 2012, AMDG produced for us their first album ‘For God’s Greater Glory’, which so far has sold near to 400 copies and raised in excess of £2,000 towards the Guardians’ Fund. This has been one of our largest fundraising projects to date.

AMDG has welcomed many new members as others have moved away. This album has seen the reunion of many previous members who have travelled back from abroad and elsewhere in the UK. Like last time, there will also be guest vocals from a well-known professional singer Katherine Smith from Christ the King Parish, Bedford.

So far, two recording sessions have taken place with producer Ben Farestvedt at Damage Audio recording studios in Bedford. Piano, flute and vocals have been put down; the singers did particularly well, singing continuously for eight hours and much fun was had. Additional vocals, guitars, and percussion are on the line up for future sessions.

The mix of music is varied, featuring new compositions from the group as well as popular favourites. Tracks include ‘Bless the Lord, O my Soul (10,000 reasons)’, ‘Go down, Moses’ and not forgetting a re-recording  of the ‘Hymn to Our Lady of Guadalupe’.

Thanks to everyone who bought a copy of the last album, it is much appreciated! Please pray for the success of this new project, which is going ahead through the generosity of a benefactor.

It is hoped to have the new album ready for April 2019 and the start of the 2019 National Pilgrimage Tour. The CD will be on sale from our repository at all this years’ venues.
