A full report with photos will follow, but this is an initial thank you from Canon Seamus Keenan, Rector of the Shrine, and the Guardians, to all who came and all who made last night such a memorable occasion.
Our special thanks to His Excellency Archbishop Edward Adams who celebrated the Mass so meaningfully and preached a wonderful homily on Our Lady, all the visiting priests, including Bishop Peter Doyle and Bishop Richard Atkinson, Father Jeremy (Spiritual Director to the Guardians), the High Sheriff, Bertie Grogan Supreme Knight, senior Knights of St Columba, other distinguished guests and all who travelled from far and near to be with us.
Thanks also to the Knights of St Columba who looked after the parking and the guests, and to the altar servers directed by Fr Gerard Byrne. The flowers and the music added a wonderful extra dimension to the liturgy, so our thanks to Maureen Brewer and the flower arrangers, Michael Moloney and the choir, and to Mary Frost and the catering team for the lovely reception where we were able to socialise so happily. Thanks, too, to Andrew Maslen who filmed the event (DVDs will be available shortly), to Ela Walenda who took photos and Guardian Maggie for the beautiful design work on the posters and invitations.
We hope that everyone took away many happy memories and rich blessings from Our Lady of Guadalupe.
