Our Lady at Youth 2000, Walsingham

The Pilgrimage Visit of the Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the Youth 2000 Summer Festival at Walsingham on Saturday, 25th August 2018 was, as always, a great success. The Traveller community was well represented among the pilgrims who came to spend time with Our Lady at this well-loved place of pilgrimage.

Guardian Keith drove the van and with him were Guardians Martin and Peter. They made an early start from Bedford and arrived in good time. Guardian Michael was already there to meet them so together they were able to unload and set up quickly in one of the workshop tents.

Almost ready …

Mass in the ‘Throne Room’ was at midday but, before that, there were some visitors to Our Lady, quietly praying and writing petition slips.

The highlight of the day was at 3.00pm when Fr Gabriel and Fr Chris from the Francisan Friars of the Renewal in Bradford gave their excellent and uplifting talk. The workshop tent was filled for this, the pilgrims felt inspired, and afterwards veneration continued until around 5.15pm.

With the additional help of Guardian Petrit, who had attended with his family, the Miraculous Relic Image and the peripherals were then loaded into the van for the journey back to the Shrine in Bedford.

Peter was our official photographer on this occasion; as you can see, he captured the day well!
