The Guardians were delighted to welcome Reverend Jeremy Davies (Faith and Spiritual Advisor to the Guardians) and newly appointed Guardian Vincent Scheuber to their first meeting of the Guardians Team on Friday, 16th February 2018.

There was much to discuss with the forthcoming start of the 2018 National Pilgrimage Tour of the Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Guardians were also pleased that Father Wayne, parish priest at Holy Cross Church and Saints Philip and James Church, Bedford was able to join them.

Father Wayne explained that the had commissioned a new icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe which will be blessed during a Lent Afternoon of Reflection on Saturday, 10th March 2018 at Saints Philip & James Church in Bedford MK41 7BX. The Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will also be present during the afternoon for veneration. Father Wayne also described the changes to the narthex of Saints Philip & James Church, which will include an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a prayer petition box, and a new Home Shrine Booking Diary – initial fruits of the Divine Renovation programme in both parishes.

(The Home Shrine is a simple wooden triptych with the iconic image of Our Lady of Guadalupe as its centrepiece, flanked by a Rosary and the four sets of Mysteries on one side, and a pledge to dutifully pray the Rosary on the other. It comes with a Guide of prayers and meditations that help us to focus on Our Lady’s prayers, and assist those who wish to learn how to pray the Rosary. The Home Shrine is loaned each week to those wanting to pray the Rosary at home.)

Special rosary for Fr Jeremy

During the meeting, Guardian John presented Fr Jeremy with a beautiful handmade rosary with beads featuring the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. John makes the rosaries himself and supplies many items for the Guardians’ repository stall.
