Walsingham Pro Life Pilgrimage 2017

On Sunday, 17th September 2017, the Miraculous Relic Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe visited Walsingham National Catholic Shrine of Our Lady for the Annual Pro Life Pilgrimage of Reparation and Prayer for the Sanctity of Life.

The 2017 Pilgrimage was led by Rt. Rev. Robert Byrne CO, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham, Father Jeremy Davies of the Diocese of Westminster, and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.  This year, the Knights of the Sovereign Order of Malta in their splendid robes were with us.

The Pilgrimage followed the usual programme of Mass, Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction, and the Sorrowful Mysteries, which were started at the Shrine and completed at the Priory at the end of the Holy Mile silent walk.  At the front of the procession Father Jeremy Davies carried the crucifix, followed by the Friars.

During the course of the day, hundreds of pilgrims lined up to venerate the Miraculous Relic Image, which, as always, was faithfully guarded by the Knights of St Columba.  The pilgrims had travelled from all over the country to show their support for the Sanctity of Life, and their devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe as Patroness of the Unborn was much in evidence.
