Guardians visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee

St Andrews's Cathedral, Dundee

Guardians Andrew and Dick have just returned from a visit on 12th July 2017 to St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee to discuss the arrangements for the forthcoming pilgrimage visit due to take place this November.

Canon Kevin Golden, Dean of the Cathedral and our old friends from the Knights of Saint Columba (KSC) Province 3, Francis Murphy, Provincial Grand Knight (PGK) and Jim Bryce, met us and gave us a tour this beautiful building.

Introductions were made and Andrew outlined the general procedures for a visit. Discussions took place in the Cathedral office and in the church; relevant photographs were taken. Various points were clarified and it was agreed a full programme will accompany the Pilgrimage visit. There will be a major Pro-Life event with a keynote speaker, visits from the local Catholic Schools and hopefully a School and Young Persons Mass and well as the usual series of afternoon reflections, prayers and talks.

Bishop Stephen Robinson has kindly agreed to be the principal celebrant at the Service of Reception to mark the start of the Visit. Canon Kevin said he was delighted to host the visit and Francis Murphy, Provincial Grand Knight from Pilgrimage partners KSC, said the Brothers were looking forward to meeting the challenges the visit would present.
